NASA Probe Searching For Alien Life
NASA's Cassini orbiter searched Saturn's icy moon Enceladus today in search for alien life. The moon is completely covered in an ocean beneath its icy crust. The probe will attempt to search the ice of moon for any sign of alien life, but it won't actually tell us whether or not Enceladus hosts marine life, microbial or otherwise. It will just analyze the chemistry of the ice plumes to determine if it has hydrothermal activity.
If the dust analyzer of Cassini detects molecular hydrogen in the moon's plumes, hydrothermal activity is a given. It may take several months to review their data before making any announcements.
