CNN lies Send Ratings to Record Lows, Yogi Bear, Olsen Twin Reruns Now Have More Viewers
There's a reason why TFTP does not cite CNN in most of our articles. Plainly stated, the Cable News Network is unreliable. And while the free-thinking great awakening continues to take place, Americans and many around the world have also taken notice. As a result, CNN's ratings are tanking.
Some of us are old enough to remember when "cable" became a household word and was sought after above the often unreliable over-the-air broadcasts of the usual big three networks and local channels. In the 1980's, Ted Turner's Cable News Network (CNN) was revolutionary. Prior to its inception, the only day-long news broadcasts available were on AM/FM radios, followed by one hour of broadcast news starting at 6 pm on television.
There's no question CNN pioneered 24-hour cable news, but somewhere along the way, the company not only lost its objectivity but became a shill for the establishment and a tool for divisive distraction.
Often criticized for being leftist leaning, in recent years, CNN has become known as the Clinton News Network by its critics. It was also one of the only networks with whom the Obama administration (including the president) would consult.
Obama once treated Fox News as an unreliable fake news network, and refused to be interviewed by the network, along with many members of his administration. And, as TFTP has pointed out numerous times,FOX News has been busted multiple times pushing fake news. But let's get back to CNN's death spiral.
Take for instance Chris Cuomo's warning in October to all Americans they would be committing a crime if they read Wikileaks' publication of Democrat National Committee emails. He told viewers, "Remember, it's illegal to possess these stolen documents." Cuomo even attempted to steer viewers into only listening to CNN's narrative on Wikileaks. He said, "It's different for the media, so everything you learn about this (latest Wikileaks' revelations) you're learning from us."
One thing's for sure, Americans hate being told what to think, and they don't take kindly to threats. Cuomo's threat wasn't received well by freethinkers, many of whom went straight to Wikileaks to see for themselves what CNN might have been hiding.
Apparently, CNN knew they had every reason to fear Wikileaks' DNC database publication. After all, the DNC email data dump revealed CNN's troubling collusion with the DNC against not only Democrat Bernie Sanders, but favored Hillary Rodham Clinton as well during a presidential election.
CNN has come under fire recently, not only for their negligence in reporting facts, but also for the focus of their news reporting. As The Federalist recently reported, CNN takes poetic license, apparently, with their quotations.
Not only did CNN misquote Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin, but they were the target of an investigative journalism sting operation led by the Veritas Project. Undercover VP reporters caught CNN producers claiming their news coverage of Russian meddling in the presidential election as "mostly bullshit", driven by CNN executives who wanted to make a mountain out of a molehill so to speak.
More recently, the sitting president of the U.S., Donald Trump, has made it his mission to add fuel to the fire of CNN's demise, openly calling their network "Fake News."
Whether genuine or not, the Trump CNN battle has served as a highly effective distraction from US starting war in Syria, sponsoring terrorism, killing hundreds of civilians, and the military-industrial complex in general. While Trump claims they are his enemy, they've done nothing but help to cover up his war crimes in Syria and the fact that he is aiding the Saudis in murdering civilians in Yemen.
Just this week, at the G20 Summit, he again called them out for their shenanigans, not the least of which was the recent threatening of a GIF creator who depicted CNN getting body slammed by a professional wrestler with Trump's visage.
It now appears that all of the lies and propaganda spewed out by the network have taken a toll on CNN's ratings which is apparently now at an all time low. According to Zero Hedge, "CNN's primetime shows (Anderson Cooper and Don Lemon) managed to draw about 6% fewer viewers than multi-decade old re-runs of "Yogi Bear," "Full House," and "Friends" which air in the same time slots on Nick-At-Nite." One would be hard-pressed to find anyone born after 1980 who has ever heard of Yogi Bear! How CNN is hanging on is anyone's guess at this point.
The Federalist describes how bad it has gotten for the once reliable CNN;
According to cable ratings from the week of June 26-July 2, CNN's viewership of its primetime shows was ranked significantly lower than its competitors like Fox News and MSNBC, which place first and second respectively. Clocking in at No. 10 on the list, CNN fell behind HGTV, Nick At Nite, History Channel, and ESPN ...
Nick at Nite! More Millennials are getting their programming from YouTube than Nick at Nite. In a time where scandals at FoxNews have seen the departure of its top performer (Bill O'Reilly), and the resignation of the third highest rated anchor (Megan Kelly), CNN could have capitalized, but instead it looks like CNN is capitulating; a victim of its own fake news stories, biased reporting, favoritism, and corruption.
Modern Day Propaganda in Geopolitics
By Makia Freeman
Modern day propaganda is all around us. However, people have usually become so numb to it that they can no longer perceive it. Many people choose ignorance, complacency or apathy to deal with it. Often you can observe groups developing societal Stockholm Syndrome, where they praise they captors out of a forlorn hope that by doing so that may somehow change things or alleviate the pain.
The control system uses all of its tentacles to keep people conditioned to a more a sheep like and unconscious state. It is the politician’s job to lie, the MSM (mainstream media’s) job to program you and Big Pharma’s job to keep you sedated with synthetic petrochemical drugs. It is a constant battle to broaden your awareness, uplift your consciousness and expand your perception in the face of these forces which seek to imprison humanity in a limited perception of Who We Are, who’s running the world, how they’re doing it and how we can change it. Propaganda does not just belong to Nazi Germany or Soviet Russia. Modern day propaganda is everywhere; sometimes subtle, sometimes overt, always pervasive.
With that in mind, here is a collection of the top 7 pieces of modern day propaganda.
Modern Day Propaganda in Geopolitics
1. The Syrian War is a civil war.
False. The Syrian War has never been a civil war; it’s a proxy war fought by foreign fighters with foreign aid. It has become an open secret that the US-UK-Israeli axis, along with the Saudis, have either created or are funding ISIS (or both). Evidence keeps coming to light showing that Israel is paying Syrian rebels and that ISIS gets their weaponry and Toyota trucks from the US. Many “rebels” fighting the Syrian Government of Bashar Al Assad are not even Syrian. Remember Obama’s freudian slip that “we’re training ISIL”?
2. The US is fighting ISIS in Syria.
False. ISIS (aka Daesh, ISIL, IS) is the pet Frankenstein of the Anglo-American-Zionsit NWO and is a US-Israeli creation. The US has no real interest in defeating ISIS – at least not until ISIS has caused the maximum amount of chaos designed to unseat legitimate governments and facilitate regime change. The real target has always been Assad (then Iran, then Russia and China). There is copious evidence for this; 2 quick examples are the incessant mantra a few years ago that “Assad must go” (until the NWO controllers realized Assad was strong enough to defend himself and his nation) and the recent shooting down by the US Coalition of an SAA (Syrian Arab Army) jet.
3. All the refugees flowing into Europe are genuine refugees.
False. Some (or many, depending on your perspective) refugees are economic migrants. They are being helped by a network of NGOs (e.g. those funded by George Soros) who have an entire system of transporting migrants from Libya to Italy for money. It’s people smuggling / human trafficking. For the background to this and further analysis, see the article Mass Migration to Europe: All in Line with the New World Order.
4. US military intervention abroad makes us safer.
What a load of nonsense! When he ran for US president in 2012, Ron Paul made a point of emphasizing the concept of blowback (which the CIA had written about) in some of his speeches. UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn recently had the courage to state the obvious in Britain: “Many experts, including professionals in our intelligence and security services have pointed to the connections between wars our government has supported or fought in other countries, such as Libya, and terrorism here at home”. When a poorer and less militarily developed nation is picked on and attacked by a rich bully nation, the former is likely to harbor resentment and a desire to retaliate in the future. many North Koreans still hate the US for carpet bombing into oblivion after WW2. Therefore, Western foreign meddling, assassination and invasion has made America the new “Satan” and enemy #1 for many people around the world, and has become one of the motivations for attacks on England, France and Germany. Thus, the US is far more likely to be attacked than if it had not intervened.
5. Iran is the biggest state sponsor of terrorism in the world.
Flat out false. While Iran may support Hamas in Palestine and Hezbollah in Lebanon, Iran has nothing on Saudi Arabia, who funds a pervasive network of extremist Wahhabi Islam schools (madrases) worldwide. It is utterly ridiculous and beyond hypocritical that Saudi Arabia now accuses Qatar of terrorism. Israel has also been behind many so-called “Muslim” and “Arab” terror incidents. Israel and Saudi Arabia now form a dark alliance – with the assistance of the US Empire, the biggest purveyor of war (and terrorism through funding it) the world has ever known. The US Government learnt its tricks from the UK Government, both of which have been tools in the hands of the New World Order. The US alternatively backs and then disowns “terrorists” or local fighters in certain areas (e.g. Central America or the Middle East) as the NWO agenda dictates. Once a group has outlived its usefulness, the nomenclature changes from “freedom fighters / liberators” to “enemy combatants / terrorists”.
6. Russia is the biggest threat the Western world is facing.
Not true. At every turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin keeps insisting that Russia does not view the US an as enemy, that the 2 great nations were on the same side for both world wars and that mutual cooperation is the only way forward. The US ignominiously lied after the collapse of the Soviet Union by promising Russia that NATO would not expand eastwards – and meanwhile keeps adding numerous Eastern and Central European nations to its alliance such as Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic (1999), then Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia (2002-2004), Albania and Croatia (2009) and Montenegro (2017). Russophobia is a convenient political tool to justify NATO, get people scared and allow bigger domestic military budgets in Western nations. It’s also a handy scapegoat for the Democrats to use in trying to account for the election loss of the incredible corrupt Hillary Clinton. Trump saw the obvious truth that it’s better for everyone if the US and Russia get along – before the Deep State got to him.
7. Israel is only defending itself.
False. Israel attacked its neighbors even before it gained official statehood in 1948, attacked Egypt to begin the 6 Day War in 1967, attacked Lebanon in 1982 and has been seizing Palestinian land ever since its inception. There’s noting “defensive” about raw, naked aggression. The truth is that Zionism is a colonial endeavor. Look at the quotes of early Zionists like Ze’ev Jabotinsky, one of the main men behind the expansionist, militaristic and anti-Arab form of Israeli nationalism that now dominates the Likud Party and Israeli politics. Take a look at what Jabotinsky, as well as former Israeli prime Ministers David Ben Gurion and Ariel Sharon, have said about Zionism and the fact that it is intimately bound up with colonialism, eviction and expropriation:
Conclusion: Geopolitical Modern Day Propaganda is Rife
Modern day propaganda in the sphere of geopolitics is dangerously widespread. With people buying into the lies, distortions and disinformation listed above, conflict and war is much more likely to be started.
SONY & THE MOVIE INDUSTRY ARE TIED TO THE U.S. GOVERNMENT & MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX
It’s no secret that the CIA, the U.S. government, and the cabal have some serious ties in Hollywood. Much of what we watch for ‘fun’ is actually propaganda that’s fed to us in order to shape our thoughts and values. We’re told what to wear, how to act, what our goals should be, and who we should love and hate, all through the media.
Not many people know this, but the CIA has an entire department dedicated to the entertainment industry. It’s run through the CIA’s Entertainment Industry Liaison Office, which collaborates in an advisory capacity with filmmakers. The CIA doesn’t just offer guidance to filmmakers, it even offers money. In 1950, the agency bought the rights to George Orwell’s Animal Farm and then funded the 1954 British animated version of the film. Its involvement had long been rumoured, but only in the past decade have those rumours been substantiated. The link between Hollywood and the CIA isn’t something new (you can read more about that in our CE article on whistleblower Roseanne Barr here).
In fact, many of the movies and TV shows you watch aren’t just written and directed by Hollywood big shots, but rather designed strategically by higher ups within the government and the elite in order to manipulate the general population.
You may remember when Sony was hacked around the time its North Korean film, The Interview, was making headlines, but do you know the whole story? Well, Wikileaks would certainly like you to.
Wikileaks’ Sony Email Dump
In April 2015, Wikileaks, the organization that exposes government and elite corruption, high-level crime, and other wrongdoings by leaking secret and classified information, published over 30,000 documents and 173,000 emails from Sony to make the previous hack more accessible to the public. This includes over 200,000 files from Sony Pictures Entertainment. The real question here is: What did Sony do that was notable enough for Wikileaks to publish that much information on it?
In a statement made last year, Wikileaks wrote: “The Sony Archives show that behind the scenes this is an influential corporation, with ties to the White House (there are almost 100 US government email addresses in the archive), with an ability to impact laws and policies, and with connections to the US military-industrial complex.”
In response, Sony quickly put out a very carefully worded statement, saying that Sony “vehemently disagrees” with the assertion that the material belongs in the public domain. Sony by no means denied the fact that the company works directly with the U.S. government, but rather simply said that they don’t think the public should know about it.
“This archive shows the inner workings of an influential multinational corporation. It is newsworthy and at the centre of a geo-political conflict. It belongs in the public domain. WikiLeaks will ensure it stays there,” said Julian Assange, WikiLeaks’ founder.
Of the more notable emails includes one between Sony and the Democratic Party, which sets up a collective within the company in order to strategically avoid the $5,000 limit on corporate campaign donations so that Sony could donate $50,000 to help the Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo get elected.
The email reads: “$50k is a heavy lift since most of it needs to come from individual contributions (only $5k can come from corp.), but I recommend we do it. . . . I think we can get to the 50k commitment by making this a focus of our individual giving from execs this year.”
Another email actually pertains to the movie The Interview, as it shows clear ties between Sony and a think tank, RAND, which is a part of the military-industrial complex. Sony reached out to RAND to get advice on the film. RAND connected Sony with one of their analysts specialized in North Korea, who suggested that Sony get in touch with the U.S. State Department and the NSA regarding North Korea’s complaints.
If you’ve never watched The Interview, it’s essentially propaganda disguised as political satire starring both James Franco and Seth Rogen, who are hired by the CIA to assassinate the North Korean dictator, Kim Jong-un. It uses humour to desensitize you to violence and then has you cheering on the assassination of the dictator. It’s not difficult to understand why the film was considered controversial by many and upset North Korea.

In addition, according to WikiLeaks, Sony Pictures’ CEO Michael Lynton is on the board of trustees of the RAND Corporation, which can be considered as “an organization specializing in research and development for the United States military and intelligence sector.”
Why Is This Important?
Sony has a huge reach, with investments in numerous industries including music, electronics, television, movies, entertainment, book publishing, and financial services, and has the ability to manipulate and shift public opinion through the media. However, Sony isn’t the only one with such power; numerous corporations influence what we hear on mainstream media, which is why it’s crucial to look at independent sources as well.
The Interview isn’t the first movie to push a hidden agenda, and it won’t be the last. The CIA actively promotes a desirable public image of its history and operations by advising the production of different movies, including the hits Argo and Zero Dark Thirty. The CIA retains “entertainment industry liaison officers” on its staff that “plant positive images about itself (in other words, propaganda) through our most popular forms of entertainment,” Tom Hayden explains in the LA Review of Books.
“So natural has the CIA–entertainment connection become that few question its legal or moral ramifications. This is a government agency like no other; the truth of its operations is not subject to public examination. When the CIA’s hidden persuaders influence a Hollywood movie, it is using a popular medium to spin as favorable an image of itself as possible, or at least, prevent an unfavorable one from taking hold,” explains Hayden. You can read more about the CIA-media relationship in our CE article here.
Taking this into account, it makes perfect sense that Sony would have ties to the White House. This isn’t just apparent within movies either; it can be seen throughout all of the media, whether that be corporations and the government influencing mainstream news, or the government influencing popular songs and movies. (You can read about the elite and the CIA’s potential ties to the music industry in our CE article here.)
All of this simply works to distract us from two things: what’s truly going on in the world, and the true essence of our being. I’m not suggesting you lock yourself in a room or run away in the forest and never look at the media again. I’m simply recommending that you stay conscious of your surroundings and critically think about what’s actually happening!
So, the next time you’re watching a movie, reading an article, or listening to a song, ask yourself: What’s the real meaning behind this? Trust your intuition and don’t be afraid to investigate where the story came from, what the overarching message is, and more importantly, who it benefits.

Obama Blames Talk Radio and Propaganda For Fake News
President Obama blamed talk radio and other "domestic propagandists" for the rise of "fake news," including fictional news items published by state-sponsored actors.
"If fake news that's being released by some foreign government is almost identical to reports that are being issued through partisan news venues, then it's not surprising that that foreign propaganda will have a greater effect," Obama said. "It doesn't seem that farfetched compared to some of the other stuff folks are hearing from domestic propagandists."
"To the extent that our political dialogue is such that everything is under suspicion, everybody's corrupt and everybody is doing things for partisan reasons and all of our institutions are, you know full of malevolent actors and if that's the story that is being put out there, then when a foreign government introduces that same argument, the facts are made up, voters who have been listening to that stuff for years, who have been getting that stuff every day from talk radio or other venues, they're going to believe it."
To remedy foreign influence in America's elections, Obama called for taking a stricter line with our internal political discourse.
"So, if we — if we want to really reduce foreign influence on our elections, then we better think about how to make sure that our — our political process, our political dialogue is stronger than it's been," he said.
