Winona Ryder Stars Series About
The Montauk Project
Winona Ryder is set to star in the Netflix original series Not-Montauk. The series is based on the government "conspiracy theory" The Montauk Project.
The Montauk Project was a series of secret project and experiments. In the 80's the United States government held secret tests and experiments on human subjects. Their goal was to develop techniques in psychological warfare. The psychological experiments took place at the Air Force base and Camp Hero in Montauk, New York. According to some reports, the government forced subjects to participate in the experiments, some of which involved time travel.
According to Variety, Ryder will play the protagonist, Joyce, described as "the working-class mother of the missing boy. She summons a strength she never she had before, while rescuing her son from terrifying forces." She will star opposite The Newsroom's David Harbour, who will play the chief of police.
